Ancient Olympia – Corinthos Canal
This beautiful trip to the Peloponnese is ideal for those who wish to escape the city of Athens for a few hours.
The first stop on our trip will be the Corinth Canal, where we will have time to admire the impressive construction.
Then we continue on to ancient Corinth, a city of significant historic and religious value. During the classical period, Ancient Corinth was one of the richest city-states with significant political influence and commercial power.
Leaving the archaeological site of Ancient Corinth, we will journey to Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. It is a place which combines natural beauty with a great history and where the most important sanctuary of antiquity operated, the Sanctuary of Olympia, dedicated to the father of the gods, Zeus.
Inside the temple was once the gold and ivory statue of Zeus, designed by Pheidias, which was considered in ancient times to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
Ancient Olympia is one of the most important sights of Greece.
